I'm really proud of this sketch. It's probably the best sketch I have done up till now. It is just a lineart sketch and there are more pieces to go with the whole composition, but more on that later.
I picked up a FMA art book on the anime last week and have probably read through it 5 or 6 times by now. Not only are the pictures great but the book shows you a step by step of how a drawing goes from a sketch to an animated work. There's a lot of info in there as well as a 4 page interview with Yoshiyuki Ito.
I'm spending a lot more time drawing now and this book has inspired a lot of ideas from me. I'm going to start finishing these works in photoshop and hopefully I can get a more professional finish to them.
The sketch is inspired from the cover of the book. Edward's in a 'dream-like' state, just staring off and thinking. Just the sketch took me about an hour from start to finish. Now that it's scanned to my comp, I'll add to the pencil sketch to try and start finishing it up. I don't know what else to add as far as the composition goes. Al will probably find his way in there.
